Who can apply
Organisations promoting local, environmental and community initiatives, both U.S.-based (that have tax-exempt status under Section 501(c) (3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service Code or the equivalent) and outside the U.S. (that have a charitable equivalent status under the laws and provisions of their respective government) can apply. Individuals are not supported, nor are schools, nor political, lobbying, religious organisations.
What can be funded
The Coca-Cola Foundation provides grants that support the environment, water, recycling, community improvement, education, women empowerment, youth development, as well as other such as economic development, arts and culture, etc. Also, secondary and tertiary funding focus areas are to be indicated in the application form, choosing from the previous ones. Since the establishment of the Foundation, about 22% of the available funds were used for protecting the environment worldwide (41% for enhancing communities, 33% for educating scholars and 4% for empowering women).
As it relates to the environment, The Coca-Cola Foundation provides funding for watershed conservation, community safe water access and awareness raising efforts focused on water conservation. Additionally, the foundation supports actions that encourage more recycling such as recycling infrastructure in parks, community centres or in other public places, informal collection and education related to proper waste disposal.
Neither movies, films, television documentaries, nor website development, nor concerts / entertainment events are eligible. Similarly, neither cause marketing nor advertising projects are eligible.

Applications must be submitted anytime through the online system, where applicants first need to register entering data concerning their organisation and then can fill in a request for funding including information about demographics, budget, impact and monitoring, certification and agreements.

Up to 100%. Additional sources of revenue are encouraged, but not required.
Max amount funded
Not specified. In 2020, the maximum granted award reached 1.6 M USD, but the average is far lower (see Grants Paid in 2020).
Indirect costs
Administrative expenses (including printing, publications, media, supplies, postage, etc.) are eligible, as well as any other expenses the project may foresee.
Notes
In response to Coronavirus, the Coca-Cola Foundation has provided over 55 Mio USD since the outbreak of the pandemic to communities and organisations around the world. At present, 20 Mio USD have been redirected to Stop-the-Spread initiative, focusing on vaccine distribution, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and awareness raising efforts promoting vaccines.
